GFCTV now available at The Caves Youth Café

Guernsey FC are delighted to announce that they are offering a free GFCTV subscription to The Caves Youth Cafe. The Caves is the Youth Commission for Guernsey and Alderney's latest social and events venue, located in town just off Trinity Square. GFC director Nic Legg explained the rationale behind this gift: "We love what the Youth Commission is doing for our island's young people, and what they are offering at The Caves is an exciting extension to their existing events and services. Among other things, The Caves is looking to provide a sports cafe-type ambience, and so of course we were delighted to help enhance this element of the venue when we were approached. Now whenever GFC are playing away, The Caves can transform into a proper Green Lions' Den, where our young fans will be able to enjoy this opportunity to watch all the match action while catching up with their friends in a safe, fun space. As a community club, the safety and wellbeing of our island's young people is very important to us.

We are also mindful of the fact that 11 to 18 year olds - the age group The Caves is set up to serve - represent our next generation of fans. Whether they are already GFC fans, or end up developing an interest in the team through being at The Caves by chance when a match is livestreamed on GFCTV, we hope they will enjoy following the games as much as we enjoy and appreciate having their support. Plus, who knows - the next Charlton Gauvain or Thomas Dodds may even be among those now able to watch our matches live at The Caves.

We hope this free subscription brings a lot of enjoyment and maybe even some inspiration to the young people who come to this new venue, and we are looking forward to developing this partnership further in due course." Aaron Davies, Youth Commission Community Manager, also expressed his pleasure at the new partnership. "We are delighted to be working with Guernsey FC to show all Saturday away games at the Youth Commission's newly relaunched social space, The Caves Youth Café.

As part of our continued effort to provide safe and fun activities for young people, we hope this gives them an additional opportunity to cheer on and support the Lions even when they play off-island. We're very grateful to GFC for working with the Youth Commission to offer young people this great opportunity.’

The Caves Youth Café is available for young people age 11 to 18 and will be open for every Saturday away game, as well as its standard opening times. The Caves will be showing its first GFCTV game on Saturday 25th November, opening at 12.30pm for GFC v Hastings United. The Caves standard opening times are Saturday’s 5.30pm to 9.30pm and Sunday’s 1.30pm to 5.30pm.
