The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is celebrating its 60th Anniversary! Click the logo above to find out more about the Diamond Challenge #DofEChallenge

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award provides a challenging programme of activities for 14 – 25 year olds across three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. D of E is celebrating its Diamond Anniversary in 2016!

Each award is split into 4 sections: including volunteering, physical skills and expeditions. Participants take part in weekly activities, for up to 12 months.

D of E aims to inspire, guide and support young people in their self-development and recognises their achievements: it is offered to all young people across the Bailiwick either directly through secondary  school, through our “open groups” or through other organisations including the Army Cadets, Boys Brigade, Youth Justice Service and Les Nicolles Prison.

The Prince's Trust is celebrating its 40th Anniversary. Click the image above to watch ITV's recent Documentary with Ant and Dec #TrustAt40

The Princes Trust xl Programme is aimed at young people ages 13 – 19 with a focus on personal development & employability skills. Currently xl is run in the 3 high schools, Les Voies and in Alderney. The xl programme provides young people with the opportunity to improve their interpersonal skills, practice teamwork, career plan, take on community projects and undertake work experience. Locally, it has been accepted that the xl programme is equivalent to 2 GCSEs.

The Team Programme is aimed at young people aged between 16-25 who are currently out of education, employment or training, giving young people an opportunity to gain new skills and qualifications as well as building confidence and self esteem. During the 12 week programme participants will take part in a UK based outdoor residential trip, work experience and a community project.

About Us

The Youth Forum is a group of young people from across the Bailiwick who represent the views of their peers and issues important to young people. The Youth Forum engages with business and community leaders, senior civil servants and politicians.

The Youth Forum’s primary focus is to provide a voice for young people within the community, and to ensure that young peoples’ voices are heard by those making strategies and decisions, including the 2016 States Election.

You can read the Youth Forum's Manifesto here, or click to download a copy:

Our Vision

Our vision is a Bailiwick where all young people reach their full potential. With the right support and opportunities we can help them to become the best that they can be and fulfil their potential as adults in the future.

Our aim is to ensure the highest quality provision for young people across our islands. We want to ensure that more young people have access to shape and engage with positive activities that support their personal and social development.

We act as un umbrella organisation for the youth sector generally, supporting mny other charities and groups working with children and young people in the Bailiwick. By affiliating many organisations under one entity we can ensure that there is a clear voice for the islands’ young people, and a clear voice for those groups working with young people.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide safe, supportive environments where young people can experience new opportunities to overcome barriers, develop skills and build confidence.

We recognise the importance of the opinions of young people and have set up a Youth Forum to enable us to gather their feedback. This not only helps us to improve our services and meet future needs but also to influence wider social policies.

Through an innovative partnership with the Education department, we are contracted to deliver services throughout youth clubs, schools, bespoke settings and via outreach, mobile and street based work.

Our ethos is needs-driven so we aspire to provide gold standard services that make a differences to young people and their futures.

Our Values

Young people first: We believe young people are at the heart of everything we do.

Trust: We must be reliable and consistent to win the trust of young people and communities. We recognise that everything we do will shape perceptions.

Respect for others: We listen to, respect and value the needs of young people and their voices.

Empowering: We invest in young people so that they can grow into responsible, contributing and self-reliant members of society.

Partnership: We work together with communities, businesses, statutory services and the voluntary sector.
